MojoVox Transcripts

The most recent events are listed first. If time permits and if I find anything interesting and not too incriminating, I may add some impromptu events from between the Beta Event and the first formally scheduled event.

  • 10 Apr 2003 Material Girl living in a virtual world - some really choice tidbits on input coordinates, the differences between World Position and Surface Position, mostly. A little bit xx xxxxx xxxx xxxxxx to be edited out, sorry.

  • 3 Apr 2003 Scheduled topic was ridged versus smooth basis functions and it did not get discussed at all. Not even mentioned! A few things related to my Termite Cooling Mounds, but mostly chit-chat.

  • 27 Mar 2003 The topic scheduled was Texture Math and it did not get discussed at all (well, OK, maybe a couple lines worth). Some more curve editor mock-ups.

  • 20 Mar 2003 Supposedly about making rocky materials, but we do a very poor job of staying on the topic of rocky materials, though it was mostly things Mojo (and some Vue/Bryce rumors).

  • 13 Mar 2003 GDC Gossip! There was no 'vox the previous week because of the Game Developer's Conference. This 'vox transcript has all kinds of dropped sekrits about what Mo did at the GDC. There's also the announcement of my curve editor tutorial and some of my wacky ideas of how the curve editor itself might be changed to make more sense.

  • 27 Feb 2003 The topic was supposed to be Atmospherics, but most of what's in there is about animations and math. There actually is some atmosphere stuff about halfway through, and a few other choice tidbits of computer graphics history sprinkled in amongst the discussions of programming languages and UNIX text editors.

  • 20 Feb 2003 Mo is in the house! The topic was supposed to be Rivers and surprisingly enough, a fair portion of the log is actually about Rivers. Patrice from pAris drops by, even though it's 3AM there!

  • 13 Feb 2003 Water Vox! A not-to-be-missed discussion of those darned absorptive colors. Includes a link which you'll have to cut-n-paste to get to the 'watervox' handout, which has tables and tables of samples with values. OK, OK, there's _a lot_ of off-topic stuff in there, but what is on topic is golden!

  • 23 Jan 2003 Some choice tidbits about displacements.

  • 9 Jan 2003 After ages of long silence, it's a quasi-real event! No Mo, but some real texture talk and rumblings of interesting things in development.

  • 30 May 2002 Mo's post-BryceCamp debriefing. School rants. Tricky blends. Utah geology. Old mac bugs. Kiwis sighted! Shiny Balls! Mo and Clay start rumors about their relationship.

  • 30 May 2002 Krummen Hacker shows up while I was hanging out several hours pre-Mo. Clay appears. KH's roads, zfractal as distortion, admin stuff w/ Clay's passwd (xx'd out, so don't get any ideas!).

  • 15 May 2002 a short-notice EuroVox. 2.0 rumors and features. Lots of SDK talk. [CENSORED]. SpaceTime node problems. Cannibalism. Butter. Mo's animation. Sunsets.

  • 9 May 2002 yeah, it's been a while. At least this time, Mo was here at the same time as other participants! Problems with spacetime, more SDK talk, raining goats, some movies, starships.

  • 4 April 2002 with a collection of Euro folk and Mo, yay! some talk of Parameter Bombs, some SDK details, time around the globe, imports and exports, misc 'vox details, amazing print technology, Mo and ster do DreamWeaver.

  • 14 March 2002 no Mo again, my cylindrical airplane, hardware, GDC stuff, two kinds of pies, mysterious hackery dialogs, Cleveland radio denied, Pro UI enhancements, Bryce (the software), the contest and BadAssGraphics.

  • 7 March 2002 no Mo, some animations by Stevo, QuickTime compression, local samples, Cleveland radio, curves, result scale, largest feature size, fractal dimension, assembling tutorials, Death Wish, 2.0 feature rumors.

  • 28 February 2002 the Ken-vention, Philosophers, birthdays, hypervoxels, SDK rumors, optimizations, debugging, the GDC machine, Daleks, Nukes, bad phones, conspiracies.

  • 21 February 2002 the Olympics, the US women's hockey team loses to Canada. Some discussion of imports. How to pick my brain.

  • 24 January 2002 regular Mo abuse, 'Vox tips (increasing font size in the stream), Top Secret new feature that Craig is working on and Why It Is So Slow...

  • 17 January 2002 some severe Mo bashing, Mo bashes us back severely, Vox snow debugging, VRML questions, SDK rumors, weird Cleveland radio, time zone logistics, a couple trips in the way-back machine.

  • 03 January 2002 Mo insanity, distortion fractals, 3 and 4 dimensions, a link to some serious Pro-UI-created PREVERSION.

  • 12 December 2001 Mo bashes Communism. The future of a raytracing plugin for MojoWorld. The color of fireworks. Find out which Pandromedan is an extra in one of the LOTR movies. Terrain export.

  • 28 November 2001 The first formally scheduled event. Mo abuse, both giving and receiving. The URL to the Pandromeda crew picture. Impersonating an officer. A little bit of who does what at Pandromeda. Render resolution discussion (wow, some actual content!).

  • 3 August 2001 The Beta Event. Lots of SubGenius ranting with Mo and his buds. Lots of Pandromeda in-jokes. Secret whispers. Maybe even some MojoWorld-related content. NOT!
