Queue up your animation to be processed later. For most animations, they have to be queued before they can be rendered anyway. For a QTVR animation, choose 'Process Later' off the Render Settings menu, then check the QTVR checkbox.
The Codec information can only be accessed in the Render Room interface. The easiest way to get there is by clicking the word 'Render' in the upper right-hand corner of the Generator's Uplink Queue dialog. You can also get there by using the File->Go To Render Room menu item from the main interface.
The lower portion of the Render Room interface includes a section which looks like this:
To get at the dialog where Codec information can be selected, double-click on the name of the render job.
